On March 24, the Tashkent International Investment Forum (TMIF) opened in Uzbekistan, Day As reports, citing Trend.
TMIF is a new platform for the Central Asian region, where the investment potential of Uzbekistan will be presented to the international investment and business community.
The event is attended by heads and representatives of official structures, large investments, financial and economic institutions and companies from foreign countries, including Azerbaijan, interested in integrating into the dynamic growth market of Uzbekistan and other countries of the Central Asian region.
As part of the opening of the forum, a plenary session was held with the participation of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The inauguration was also attended by European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) President Odile Renaud Basu, Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Masatsugo Asakawa, and World Trade Organization (WTO) Deputy Director-General Xiangchen Zhang. Saudi Investment Minister Khalid Al-Falih.
The event was moderated by Jonathan Charles, Director of Communications at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
The forum, which will last until March 26, will discuss the conditions created in Uzbekistan for business development, transport infrastructure, green energy, the financial market, as well as benefits and preferences for attracting investment in tourism, production of building materials, textiles and leather products, agriculture, etc. The signing ceremony of investment and trade agreements will also be held.

In addition, tours of the forum participants will be organized to the leading industrial enterprises created in the free economic zones of Uzbekistan, visits to the historical cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khwarazm.
